A long form conversation show about men who did something hard and came back to tell it straight. No gurus, no lectures, no hustle. Just the man across the table and the thing he lived through.
The idea
Every town has a handful of men who have done something remarkable and never told anyone properly. A man who has cut down trees for twenty five years. A man who stayed married for forty five. A sheriff who has seen the same road at every hour it has.
This show goes and sits with them. One hour, one room, no promotional hook. The host is not a guru and does not pretend to be one. He has his own hard things behind him, and he asks the questions a man actually wants answered: what did it cost, what did you get wrong, and would you do it again.
There is more to being a man than either side of the argument is willing to admit.
Ten episodes, released one a week. The six below are concepts for the season, not released shows.
Pilot
Tyler, recorded before there were cameras in the room. This is the voice, the argument and the invitation, in about half a minute. The room behind him is the one being built.
Pilot film. Not a released episode.
The host
Tyler is a two time national ultra distance cycling champion, a filmmaker, a husband of twenty years and a father of two. He built a channel of more than 280,000 subscribers by shooting and editing everything himself, often alone, usually in bad weather.
He has ridden across France, been run out of a Colombian valley, and made nine seasons of documentary work about ordinary people doing unreasonable things. He is not an expert on manhood. He is a man with experience who is still trying to get better, which is the only qualification the show requires.
Season one schedule
New episodes land every Friday morning, starting 20 November. Full video on YouTube, audio wherever you listen, and a short clip from each one through the week.
Scheduled, subject to change. No episode has been released yet.
Tyler alone in the room, working something out in public. The fastest way to know what the show believes.
One man, one hour, no promotional hook. The guest is chosen for what he has lived, not for what he is selling.
Occasionally the camera leaves the room and follows the work or the place, shot in the same documentary grammar as everything else.
For investors
The business model, the launch costs and the revenue scenarios behind the show, laid out plainly, including what could go wrong.
